Area Sales Manager
Department: Field Sales

XYZ Machine Tools LTD are a leading supplier of Machine Tools into the UK. With over 25,000 machine tools supplied to date we are looking for an apprentice trained engineer ideally in a sales role within the machine tool industry to take on a territory as an Area Sales Manager – South East.
The successful applicant will have completed an apprenticeship in the engineering sector, and ideally already in a sales role within the machine tool industry. However Engineers at all levels are invited to apply as we at XYZ Machine Tools appreciate the value of ongoing training, and offer full training and development for the right candidate who would like to start a career in sales.
Main responsibilities:
- Managing all current customers within your allocated area, ensuring they receive the highest customer service, and we service their needs as their business develops
- Demonstrating our full product range to current and new customers
- Generating your own leads and building new relationships with those potential customers.
- Closing leads and opportunities
- Reporting on area development and progress
The package consists of a competitive salary with additional commission-based earnings.
Full training is provided and will initially be at our Devon HQ and further training will be given onsite senior team members – as well as an ongoing training programme with a personal development plan to keep us at the forefront of the industry.

CNC Machine Builder
Department: Production
Location: Burlescombe, Devon
Working hours: Full time, permanent – 07:45 – 17:00 Mon to Thurs, 08:30 – 12:30 Fridays (39 hours)
We are looking for a Production Machine Builder (ideally suited to someone with a mechanical background or mechanic). You will play a key role in assembling, testing and preparing state of the art CNC lathes and mills to ISO standard. The role is hands on, detail driven and ideal for someone with a passion for mechanical and electrical engineering.
Main responsibilities:
- Assemble CNC lathe and mills from castings to finished systems.
- Install CNC software packages.
- Install and test mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
- Carry out calibration to achieve ISO requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical build issues.
Desired skills and experience:
- Background in engineering or mechanics
- Understanding of mechanical drawings, tolerances and assembly principles.
- Good ability of using hand tools.
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering consistent high quality, built machines.

Experienced Stores Person
Department: Stores
Location: Burlescombe, Devon
Working hours: Full time, permanent – 07:45 – 17:00 Mon to Thurs, 08:30 – 12:30 Fridays (39 hours)
The Stores office is a key department within our company housing over £2 million of stock and supplying machinery parts to our Service department, Production department and our customers.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our busy stores department. We are looking for someone with stores experience preferably with a mechanical or engineering background. The right person needs to be enthusiastic, self-motivated, show initiative and willing to take on a range of duties.
Main Job activities:
- Picking, packing.
- Receiving goods in and booking in deliveries.
- Raising sales orders.
- Forklift driving (training can be given).
- Maintaining a computerised stock ledger.
- Counting and checking stock.
- Some lifting required.
- Other activities include; COSHH, updating our on-line web shop, export documentation and general business administration.
Full training will be given to the right candidate.
Key skills:
- Computer literate.
- Eye for details.
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good level of general education
- Mechanical / engineering background preferred but not essential.

Trainee Commissioning and Servicing Engineer
Department: Service
Location: Nationwide – All locations considered
Working hours: Full time
The role will consist of travelling to customers sites to commission and carry out annual services on our ProtoTRAK range of milling machines and lathes and as such will involve some weekly nights away in a hotel.
Experience of the ProtoTRAK control would be beneficial but not essential as training will be given on the control aspects of the machines. This roll may suit a machinist with some maintenance background or a maintenance engineer that wants to progress in to service.
Training will be given initially at our Devon HQ and further training will be given onsite with a senior engineer.

Machine Tool Service Engineers
Department: Service
Location: Nationwide – All locations considered
Working hours: Full time
We are looking for an apprentice trained service engineer from within the machine tool industry to join our dedicated team of field based service engineers
The successful applicant will have done a minimum of a 4 year apprenticeship in the engineering sector preferably with field service experience. The applicant should be comfortable working with both mechanical and electrical aspects of machine tools. Experience with ProtoTRAK® and Siemens controlled machines beneficial although not essential as training will be given on control aspects of the machines. The role will involve travelling to customers sites to commission, service and repair XYZ Machine Tools extensive range of machines and will involve some nights away.
