XYZ Machine Tools has recruited Graham Cherry to the newly created role of Premium Product Sales Manager, where the prime focus for his extensive machine tool sales experience will be on the recently introduced XYZ UMC-5X gantry-style five axis machining centre and other premium products as they are added to the XYZ range.
Graham’s background includes 10 years of shopfloor experience, including his apprenticeship, backed up by 29 years in sales; 25 of which were in the machine tool industry, working for leading industry names selling their high-end, high-performance machines. “My time on the shopfloor, followed by four years in cutting tool sales gave me the knowledge to make the progression to machine tool sales, where I developed into a specialist in the sales of premium, multi-axis, precision machine tools. The opportunity to join XYZ Machine Tools at this exciting time in its development as it too moves further into the premium sector with the UMC-5X is one that I’m relishing, and one that I see will be very successful, as the XYZ product range continues to expand,” says Graham Cherry.

Graham will work in conjunction with XYZ Machine Tools’ existing team of Area Sales Managers across the UK to develop sales of the UMC-5X. This is already bearing fruit as installations have taken place of this innovative and ground-breaking machine. It is expected that further sales will be announced in the coming weeks, with significant enquiries in the pipeline.
“We welcome Graham to XYZ Machine Tools and we are confident that his expertise in the multi-axis, high-technology, machine environment will be a major advantage to XYZ and our customers as we pursue our move into five-axis machine sales with the UMC-5X. We recognise that the move into five-axis means a fresh approach to sales and the combination of our existing sales team and Graham’s added experience will deliver the market approach that we need,” says Nigel Atherton, Managing Director, XYZ Machine Tools.
