XYZ Machine Tools reports another highly successful MACH exhibition with orders booked for 23 machines at the show and more to follow as a result of a very high level of solid enquiries during the week-long event.

With 18 machines on display highlighting the diversity of the XYZ Machine Tools range the stand was busy from doors opening on the Monday to the exhibition closing on the Friday. The level of inquiries was extremely good with a significant proportion of those highlighted as high potential. “The response to our attendance at MACH was superb and the order and enquiry levels can be classed as a roaring success, all in all it was a cracking show for XYZ. Particularly pleasing was that five of the confirmed orders were from customers that we have not dealt with before, which is always encouraging. The popularity of the XYZ Machine Tools range is that we have machines that suit anyone cutting metal, this was highlighted by the fact that enquiries came all sectors of industry and company sizes, from a one-man businesses to large multi-nationals. A trend that did surprise us was the number of recent start-up businesses as well as companies that had returned to manufacturing, with some quoting bad experiences with overseas component suppliers,” says Martin Burton, UK Sales Manager, XYZ Machine Tools.

While general interest was across the board, with people looking at ProtoTRAK milling and turning, also XYZ’s vertical machining centre and turning range, particular attention was focussed on a demonstration of polygon turning. Quite a few visitors had not seen this technique before and many recalled instances when it would have been very useful, or time saving, compared to having to produce shapes like this on a machining centre or mill to complete the work. Visitors also showed good interest in the all new look XYZ 1060HS VMC, which is now equipped with the 19” 840D Siemens Shopmill Control. The demonstration machine also had the optional Lehmann five-axis unit fitted and was shown making full use of its high speed spindle and 43 m/min feedrates.
