XYZ Machine tools has announced the appointment of Piper Werkzeugmaschinen of Berlin to act as its distributor for the full range of XYZ machines in Germany and Austria. This move is part of a strategic plan by XYZ Machine Tools to further expand sales across mainland Europe.
Managing the XYZ business for Piper is Andy Ostheimer, who is already very familiar with the XYZ range, in particular the ProtoTRAK control system. This existing level of product knowledge, combined with Piper’s ‘all in one’ partnership approach to selling capital equipment, is one that closely matches the philosophy of XYZ Machine Tools. “We are very excited about the partnership with XYZ Machine Tools as we operate in very similar ways. At Piper we pride ourselves on working closely with customers in order to meet their machine tool, finance and technical requirements, while at the same time providing a seamless service from order through to machine delivery and installation, and after sales service and support, much as XYZ does in the UK,” says Andy Ostheimer.
Piper joins an impressive list of European distributors covering 17 European countries, in addition to representation in South Africa and the United Arab Emirates. European growth is a key target for the Burlescombe-based business as it aims to maintain its record of year on year growth. “The opportunity to work with Piper in Germany will greatly improve our export sales potential, with the added benefit of the existing experience that Andy has of the XYZ range making the transition much smoother. This appointment will give XYZ a much more dedicated and direct approach to the German market and provide the technical support that is expected by customers in Germany,” says Andrew Kilshaw, Export Sales Director, XYZ Machine Tools.
